Many of the images presented on this site are created
in acrylic paint or color pencil. In recent years,I've combined
the painting media with digital photography in the computer to create
simple enhanced photographic portraits or complex collages. Great
satisfaction comes from taking several photographs and putting them
together coherently and beautifully into a composition that is much
more than the sum of its parts.
Sketch to Final
I can have a job printed in any number of different
processes but I've been employing an Iris printer for most of my recent
projects. The advantages are the archival inks and paper. The Iris
printer I use, Trillium, is a fine art print shop that offers archival
watercolor paper in sizes up 48 inches wide. They are also capable
of printing to canvas.
Here are some projects that I'm currently working
on or ones that have been on my mind lately.
In September, Taylor Ann LaGow, my dear little friend,
succumbed to mitochondrial disease,
which she had bravely battled all her 8 years. She loved butterflies.
The following images comprise
a graphic (auto)biographical short story depicting my most recent
move (of many), and the zeitgest of the years from 1994 to the present.
They are paintings and photgraphs which have then been enhanced
and composed by the grace of the computer.
